The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth

Hello everyone! it's been waay too long since my last REAL post! Hope everyone's summer has been going good so far.  So I thought it would be fun to do a post on our city's biggest event of the year The Calgary Stampede.  I know most Canadian's will know but I'm not sure exactly how many people from outside of Canada have heard of it.  We are basically Canada's biggest western style theme park that is held every year in July for 10 days and this year is July 8-17.  The city goes all out for this every year workers are allowed to wear jeans for the entire week, parties everywhere and free pancake breakfast too!.  I didn't get to go last year but this year I went twice just for the food and Grandstand show haha!

 We went on saturday and it was packed! Sunday would be even busier because it's family day so free admission for everyone before 9am and free pancake breakfast too!

 Lots of rides! I don't go anymore been there and done that many times already...haha!

 I did go on the skyride thus being able to take these awesome pictures.

 Poutine!! yum! For those who don't know this is fries topped with cheese curds and gravy.  This one is special as it has beef on top :P.  This was originated in Quebec and is very famous there!

 If I were to recommend one thing you MUST see when you come to the stampede it would be the Grandstand show.  These guys put on an amazing show! if you like cirque du soleil then you will like this there is a bit of everything acrobats, comedy, singing, dancing, TONS of fireworks and much much more.

 So pretty!

This is just a small chunk of what you'll see here definitely check the stampede out if you are ever in town. Ok just looked up next years date and it's from July 6-15 2012 it's gonna be our 100th anniversary! crazy!
